Today we began our first Writing Workshop Friday by brainstorming what it means for writing to be "good." We then finished our responses from yesterday. Students then discussed what they think good writing is and we took notes on what qualities to look for when evaluating a piece of writing. As we talked about conventions, we made our first entry into the Toolbox section of our Notebooks. Students received a Conventions Toolkit worksheet and we took notes on what you need for a complete sentence. We will continue to practice and work with the subject, predicate, and the idea of a complete sentence.
