These Literature Circles will work differently this time around now that you have a better idea of how to conduct a discussion and to manage your time.
The majority of your reading will be done outside of class. You will be responsible for completing a reflection sheet and analyzing examples from your text to prepare for discussions on Fridays. Each discussion will be recorded, and at the end, I will choose one of those recorded conversations to grade for discussion skills and verbal content. |

Final Literature Circle Activity!
Your homework over the weekend is to either write a book review or to create a book trailer promoting your Literature Circle Book! 1.) I have attached a graphic organizer to your right to show you how to format your written book review. We will post these reviews around the classroom to advertise our reading selections! Remember, a review includes your opinion and you may dislike the book, but you must tell the reader of your review why! 2.) Option two for this homework assignment is to create a book trailer! We go to the movies and see previews of upcoming movies, right? They grab our attention, show us parts of the movie, but they don't reveal the ending. These are things you can do in a book trailer/preview! Here is a link to a professional book trailer for "Wonder" by R. J. Palacio: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgB7_KpBDss The second video is a student made trailer for "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" If you have an iPad, I encourage you to use the App iMovie to create your trailer! You will be able to send this to me or upload it to Dropbox on Monday. |
